These are the Official Rules for the AZ FAFSA TikTok/Instagram Video Contest (“Contest”). The contest begins on April 8, 2024, and ends on May 6, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Arizona Mountain time. The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with TikTok or Instagram.

Eligibility

Contest is open to students enrolled in a high school school (grades 9-12) or home school equivalent located in the state of Arizona. All entrants must have parent/guardian consent to participate.

How to Enter:

To enter, entrant must submit:

• Post a TikTok or instagram video covering why you completed your FAFSA OR why FAFSA is important
• Tag #AZFAFSA, @BenjFAFSA, @BeALeader & azfafsa.org
• By submitting all items, the entrant automatically confirms that he/she agrees to all official rules.
• Videos that include parents will earn 10 bonus points that count towards their “like” count.

The students with the TikTok and instagram post with the most likes will win the following prizes:

• 1st Place: $500 scholarship 
• 2nd Place: University swag bag
• 3rd Place: University swag bag

There will be a total of six winners. Two first place prizes will be awarded to two separate individuals. One for Tiktok and one for Instagram. This will follow suit for second and third place as well.

Video Entry Deadline:

Deadline to enter is May 6, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Arizona Mountain time.

Winner Determination: 

On behalf of the AZ FAFSA Coalition, Be a Leader Foundation (BALF) will select winner(s) from among all entrants who have complied with these Official Contest Rules. BALF’s decision with respect to the selection of the potential winner(s) shall be final. Entrants need not be present to win. The potential winner will be notified via TikTok and Instagram or by email on or about May 17, 2024.

Prize Acceptance

All federal state and local laws and regulations apply. Prior to or at the time of delivery of the prize, the potential winner/parent or guardian must execute a Prize Acceptance Letter. Failure to execute a Prize Acceptance Letter may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner, unless prohibited by law. Failure to accept delivery of the prize will constitute forfeiture of such prize. If the potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules or if BALF is unable to contact a selected winner within a reasonable time period following the winner’s selection, the prize will be forfeited and, at BALF’s discretion, an alternate winner will be selected. In consideration of being awarded the prize, winner/parent or guardian hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation, or remuneration of any kind, to the use of the winner’s name, voice, picture, and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF and affiliated partners.

Contest Video Details

• Entries are submitted on behalf of only the account owner, even if there are other individuals included in the video.
• Video may be any length of time.
• Video must address why the student completed the FAFSA or address why the FAFSA is important
• Student(s) may use a smartphone to film the video and must be in vertical format for TikTok.
• Videos must be live action or animation, no PowerPoint slides.
• Videos may not use copyrighted images or music.
• Multiple video submissions are allowed but only one submission per entrant may win a prize.
• Videos must not infringe the privacy or personality rights of any person or deceased person.
• Entrant  hereby irrevocably authorizes AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF and affiliated partners to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute such photos for purposes of publicizing AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF and affiliated partners programs or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photograph.
• Entrant hereby grants AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF and affiliated partners permission to use my image (or likeness) in a photograph in any and all of its publications, including website entries and AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF and affiliated partners social media platforms, without payment or any other consideration.
• Students/entrants must comply with the Terms of Service of TikTok and Instagram, which provides that in order to access or use the services the person must be 13 years or older, cannot make available material which is defamatory to any person, obscene, offensive, pornographic, hateful, racist, discriminatory, or inflammatory. 
• Review TikTok privacy policy for younger adults.

• Review Instagram intellectual property policy

Indemnity

Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and holds harmless and indemnifies AZ FAFSA Coalition, BALF, affiliated partners,TikTok and instagram, and each of their directors, officers, employees, or agents, against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising from either the entrant’s participation or the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in this Contest.
